General DescriptionThe purpose of this class within the organization is to provide general support to the Treasurer’s Office with data entry that requires an entry level functional understanding of budgets. Reviews transactions and assists with monthly and year-end procedures as assigned. Serves as a backup for other designated Treasurer’s Office responsibilities.Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Essential Functions: Assists public visitors to the Treasurer’s OfficeAssists with preparation of various reports for outside entitiesWorks with outside departments to gather information needed for reportsRecords journal entries for multiple revenues and expensesApprove Accounts Payable InvoicesReviews records on a periodic basis according to retention policy, schedules necessary destruction and remits reports to SC State ArchivesAssists in other accounting duties as neededAdditional Duties: Assists in opening mail daily and posts all checks and cash payments in MunisRecord Budget AmendmentsBackup for Accounts Payable and other designated responsibilitiesPerforms related work as assigned.Responsibilities, Requirements and ImpactsData Responsibility: Data Responsibility refers to information, knowledge, and conceptions obtained by observation, investigation, interpretation, visualization, and mental creation.
