The Worthington Area YMCA seeks a highly talented individual to direct its community aquatics offerings. The City of Worthington is building a brand new outdoor aquatic facility that is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2022! This facility includes a lazy river, tube slides, play features and FUN! In addition to supervising the outdoor facility, this position will also oversee the indoor aquatic facility that has diving well with one meter diving board, a rock wall as well as a zero-depth area with slides and water features. Lead the charge in this implementation of a new outdoor Aquatics Center!

The YMCA is a charitable organization that exists to serve Nobles County and the surrounding communities where there is a need. Our service includes a variety of recreational, wellness, and social service-based programs for infants though senior citizens.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Aquatics Director supervises a team of part-time employees and oversees four major programs: Swim Team, Swimming Lessons, Lifeguard Staff and Safety Around Water. In addition to managing and scheduling the indoor and outdoor pool facilities, the Director is responsible for the execution of an annual budget and will work closely with the management team to coordinate and facilitate a variety programs and special events.
This is a full-time, year-round position with an annual salary based on prior experience. Full health benefits, retirement plan and vacation time round out the package. This is a management level role within the YMCA that reports directly to the Executive Director/CEO.
A bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports administration or a related field is required. It’s recommended that candidates have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Aquatics programming and experience in a supervisory role. A proven history of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and communication with employees, supervisors and community members is necessary. Applicants should at minimum be Lifeguard certified including CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid. CPO is a requirement. Higher levels of certification are recommended.
$36,000-$42,000 Dependent on Qualifications and Experience.
