I. Job SummaryThe Barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualizedattention towards each customer. Provides friendly and efficient service at all times.II. Essential Job FunctionsJob ActivitiesCustomer Service· Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of all items listed on each menu including ingredients, preparation and serving methods.· Provides a speedy, efficient and professional level of service at all times.· Supports the seamless running of the restaurant by providing a highly efficient and effective service, ensuring standards are maintained and customer needs are anticipated.Department Responsibilities· Ensures that the barista section and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.· Assists with all wet stock deliveries and help transfer stock from one department to another.· Attends meetings / training sessions as required by the management team.· Is hands-on and present in the barista section at all times during service.· Ensures that all service ware is properly cared for, cleaned and prepared for every service.· Maintains the highest possible standards of personal hygiene and appearance and is dressed in clean correct uniform at all times.· Ensures the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene and safety at work at all times in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1977.· Reports any complaints or comments immediately to the Restaurant Manager.· Works as a team player at all times and is prepared to be flexible in order to ensure that operations are always as efficient and profitable as possible.· Establishes and maintains good working relationships amongst the restaurant and the kitchen team.· Maintains all equipment and utensils.Personal CompetenciesThese describe the behavior you will need to demonstrate to carry out your job effectively:· Maintains a high customer awareness by approaching your job with the customers always in mind.· Is financially aware of costs involved in the operations and are responsible to control costs.· Is motivated and committed to your personal development, approaching all tasks with enthusiasm and seizing opportunities to learn new skills or knowledge in order to improve your personal performance· Is adaptable, responding quickly and positively to changing requirements, which may mean getting involved in procedures that are not normally part of your day-to-day responsibilities.· Maintains high level of teamwork by showing co-operation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of department and restaurant goals.
