About us Avencia consulting is working with a highly regarded global provider of insurance, operating within the P&C sector. We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the London office, joining an established department with with a range of local and global initiatives to get involved with! Prior experience as a business analyst for the P&C Insurance sector is a requirement, experience doesn’t have to be gained from a direct insurer. The role The role of the business is to facilitate the change in the organisation by capturing the needs of the business and following it through to the implementation in a structured and consistent approach. To act as the ‘communication interface’ between the Business representatives and IT, to derive and translate the business requirements into technical requirements in order to help implement the solution. Key accountabilities Key areas of responsibility: Eliciting and delivering high quality business requirements from key stakeholders on a full end to end basis including documentation in appropriate toolsWorking with designers/architects and stakeholders to define value adding solutionsAnalyse and understand business processes to enable production of “as-is” and “to be” process documentationDevelopment of clear and detailed process maps, including systems and controlsConduct gap analysis and Identify inconsistencies across the mapped business processes and highlight opportunities for improvementClose collaboration with IT while transforming business requirements into technical solutions, and review of developed solutionsTesting of functionality and processes including preparation of test scripts/scenarios and conducting testing where appropriateFacilitating and conducting business change impact analysis including user training, process modelling, preparation of associated documentationBusiness warranty support as part of go live including defect resolution & management, embedding changes into BAU, conducted lessons learned sessions to further optimise the whole process and to learn from mistakes Facilitating workshops with SME’sDevelopment of data flow maps and data directoriesCo-ordinate and lead project teams including development resources where necessary. This will include production of project plans, status updates and any other associated reporting relevant to the Business Change functionAwareness and interest in understanding trends in the industry including what’s changing in the organization and how it can affect the business system and process landscape Skills & experience MINIUMUM: At least 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, including experience of process mapping, and business process re-engineeringAt least 5 years’ experience in P&C Insurance sectorExperience in mapping processes using industry standard tools (e.g. BIC, Adonis, Visio etc)Experience of facilitating workshops and focus groupsExperience in Robotic Process Automation & other Intelligent Automation conceptsStrong analytical skillsStrong business & stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to self manage & manage delivery of others DESIREABLE: Experience in working with global insurance companies Educated to at least Bachelors Degree in corresponding field of expertiseBCS Diploma in Business Analysis
