Professionally answers calls from and assists SCDOT customers. Takes ownership of customer’s problem/request, ascertains details regarding the request, logs information into the tracking system, and routes to the appropriate area of SCDOT for response/resolution. Provides detailed documentation of all calls so that the responder, supervisor and coworkers understand the reason for the call and the action that was taken to resolve the issue. Consistently meets unit goals and objectives as defined for quality customer service. Tracks customer requests to ensure all requests are responded to within the given time frame. Responds and routes customer email requests for information and services that arrive via the Contact Us Webpage. Assists daily with damage claims received by SCDOT. Professionally handles claims in all aspects from beginning to end with timeliness, accuracy and accumulating all information related to claims. Works with claimant, CSC manager, county, and district personnel in order to bring final resolution. Conducts follow-up customer service surveys after problems/requests are resolved. Performs other duties as assigned.

A high school diploma and one (1) year of relevant program experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.

Must be able to work in an open workspace in close proximity of others. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and tolerate moderate background noise. The applicant should be familiar with the geographical aspects of South Carolina and have the ability to read a map. The applicant should be able to operate and understand online mapping applications.

Must adhere to a structured work schedule. May be required to work hours outside the normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.Show more
