Job Summary : The Casualty Claims Representative will handle all initial aspects of claims management for Wawa’s property and casualty claims from report to Wawa to report to TPA. Coordinate initial investigation and evidence gathering and ensure all information is sent to third party administrator. Perform initial contact to injured associates, GMs and customers as needed. Coordinate with third party administrator and defense counsel to bring assigned claims to resolution. Create new processes and re-evaluate existing processes to ensure team is working efficiently and effectively.
Principal Duties:
Review Risk Management Information System, Risk Management inbox and Applix continuously throughout the day for new loss notices. Review all incidents and contact stores, injured workers or customers to determine if reporting is required. Submit claims to Third Party Administrator. Take lead role per line of business as required by business need.
Contact associates and customers as appropriate for investigation or to resolve claims. Resolve claims up to authority level of $50,000. Seek manager approval on claims in excess of $50,000. Work with Casualty Claims Manager as needed to answer questions or address issues.
Areas of responsibility will include one or more or the following areas:
First party property- Recover costs of repairs to Wawa property from responsable parties
Third party property- Resolve small customer property damage claims. Gather documentation and evidence for claims sent to Third Party Administrator
Auto- Review charges to self-insured account. Monitor third party liability claims sent to Third Party Administrator.
General Liability- Resolve small customer food claims. Coordinate investigation and resolution of claims sent to Third Party Administrator.
Workers Compensation- Coordinate with Third Party Administrator to deliver lost wages and medical care to injured associates. Coordinate return to work. Monitor claims to closure.
Participate in all meetings and discussions regarding status and strategy of claims.
Request all contracts and leases from appropriate Wawa department upon reporting of a claim when necessary. Obtain all contracts, leases, purchase orders, or other investigation as requested by the adjusters. Maintain “library” of contracts and leases.
Undertake and lead projects when required.
Partner with internal departments and vendors as designated to take lead role in building and executing processes to facilitate claims processing.
Serve as primary contact with Call Center to provide input to ensure quality claim reporting and customer service.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Prefer 1-2 years experience working in worker’s compensation or liability insurance
Ability to use RMIS systems to review adjuster notes and run loss reports
