Each day, we work side-by-side with others to strengthen the foundations of our communities.General Purpose:Responsible for the overall leadership of a specific child care site (generally the YMCA of Orange County’s smaller sites in terms of enrollment) including staff recruitment, hiring and supervision, direct supervision of children, preparation of daily schedule and curriculum, enrollment, parent and school relations, overseeing facility maintenance, risk management, fiscal accounting and licensing compliance. May perform some direct child supervision, sometimes on a daily basis given the needs of the Child Care Site Coordinator’s site, to meet the needs of the site. The Child Care Site Coordinator is responsible for maintaining staffing and the Child Care Site Coordinator’s recommendations regarding the hiring, promotion, demotion, and termination of such staff will be given significant weight.Responsibilities/Duties:Exercise discretion and independent judgment to plan, prepare, supervise, and implement programs.Ensure the safety of children and staff.Manage operating budget per enrollment.Plan, supervise, and implement the program in accordance with the policies and philosophies of the YMCA.Maintain a licensed program in accordance with Title XXII regulations and the YMCA of Orange County Standard Operating Procedures.Assist in recruiting, selecting, orienting, developing and training paid and volunteer staff.Supervise any staff or volunteer positions at the site.Implement staff meetings and trainings.Maintain positive parent-staff and community-school relationships.Organize and maintain Parent Advisory Committee and fund raisers with the support of volunteers.Assist in program promotion, explain the program to visitors.Manage and support family billing to ensure billings are correct and tuition is collected timely.Maintain the arrangement, appearance and learning environment of the Child Care Site.Ensure all staff, including yourself attend trainings to stay current on required association and/or child care trainings.Follow and enforce safety regulations and other YMCA and School policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation: Must have completed 15 units that include the general areas of:Child Growth and development or human Growth and developmentChild, family and community or child and familyProgram/curriculumAn additional course that includes: administration or staff relations will be required.
