Summary: Lead, train, and apply Lean and Six Sigma principals to Continuous Improvement initiatives including production and administrative Kaizen events to support key business objectives. Provide leadership, education, and guidance throughout the Kaizen process. Train and mentor team members in a broad range of lean philosophies to include the production floor Kaizen process. Utilize visual metrics to help evaluate effectiveness of lean operations and drive improvements. Directly supervise Production Planner/Buyer positions that drive the commercial, sourcing and manufacturing functions with a focus on delivery, quality, and cost.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Act as a Change Agent. Lead and mentor team-based improvement projects and Lean initiatives throughout the business.Lead or facilitate Kaizen as identified by Value Stream Managers. Mentor leaders and team members as required, to better meet customer needs and financial targets.Identify and prioritize physical and processes improvement strategies based on business needs: product costs, deliveries, and customer requirements.Directly supervise staff in the Production Planner roles that support sales and production forecasts, sourcing requirements and capacity constraints.Determine the appropriate tools, techniques, timing, and methodologies of improvement activities to achieve business objectives.Develop Value Stream strategies identifying process improvement opportunities. Plan, prepare, coordinate, execute and follow-up on Kaizen activity in alignment with a Value Stream strategy.Utilize visual metrics to help evaluate effectiveness of lean operations and drive improvements.Provide target education, leadership, and guidance throughout the Kaizen process.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
