They are frequently called upon by the Senior Leadership team to evaluate and connect the various actions of the company into a cohesive strategy that takes into account the functional strategies while prioritizing the Enterprise strategy. In cases, where the perspective to be evaluated is new to Best Buy (e.g. new lines of business, acquisitions, etc.) they are used to create new business level strategies.As an Enterprise Strategy Senior Consultant, you will work as a team member and lead specific strategic initiatives that have broad organizational breadth and impact, including defining Enterprise strategy frameworks, dimensioning specific growth opportunities and path to success (e.g., build or buy decisions) as well as enabling inorganic transactions. You will manage the work product of individuals and have a significant amount of autonomy and accountability for communicating Best Buy’s strategy across the organization.What will you do?Develop strategic, business, and financial analyses:Translate complex strategic/business questions into concise problem statements and develop the corresponding project approachDevelop analyses and presentations based on perspective gleaned from Officer-level individuals and complemented with your own strategic thinkingProvide editing support in a productive and teaching manner for analyses and presentationsConduct internal and external assessments:Assess internal functions and capabilities for relative quality and attributes compared with industry standardsAnalyze how external companies and industries operate and make money and identify potential implications for Best BuyPerform gap analyses to indicate the differences between Best Buy’s business approach and external businesses and industriesDevelop coherent recommendations and concise communication of such in order to drive stakeholders’ decision-making processGain insight and perspective from Officer-level professionals to shape Enterprise-level decisions:Participate in gaining insight and perspective from officer-level professionals within Best BuyLead gaining insight and perspective from external parties where sharing of Best Buy’s strategic approach is also sharedConduct strategic capability projects (e.g. BoD presentation preparation, executive briefing):Independently produce work on specific strategic capability functionsBasic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible)Independent management of discrete projects, including providing training and feedback to non-solid line staffAbility to communicate succinctly to C Suite-level individualsIntermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suiteConducting and interpreting Financial Analysis Preferred Qualifications:Experience in management consulting, a start-up company, legal or corporate strategyMBAProject Management ExperienceAbility to deal with ambiguityShow more
