Mendocino WineGrowers Inc (MWI) is an alliance of grape growers and vintners working together to promote the grapes and wines from Mendocino County. We are a membership-based organization and provide marketing, promotion, educational resources, advocacy, and public relations for our members and the winegrowing community.We are looking for a candidate who will work directly with our Executive Director and assist with event coordination, daily administrative duties, membership programs, and general marketing tasks.The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to provide information and service to our members and community. The ideal candidate will be positive and upbeat, flexible, resourceful and enjoy people. A knowledge of and passion for Mendocino County and its wines will be a plus!This is a part-time position based out of our office in Ukiah, CA. The job duties include, but are not limited to the following:Event Coordination: · Assist with organization and execution of events (media, trade and consumer) from concept development through completion.· Manage event ticket sales processes and vendors, track sales figures.· Arrange accommodations as necessary for VIP guests.· Assist in event sponsorship development.Administrative: · Coordinate, attend and take minutes at monthly Board and Executive Committee meetings, providing progress reports on fundraising events, activities and other items as needed.· Organize and maintain files including those associated with meeting agendas, bylaws, and minutes.· Respond promptly to inquiries from current and prospective members, consumers, and others.· Provide primary receptionist duties for incoming calls.Membership: · Work to innovate member engagement and retention strategies and improve the member experience.· Maintain membership database, membership contacts and various internal email lists.· Invoice and maintain membership records.Marketing: · Maintain, and update as needed, the MWI website with member profiles, event postings, press releases, etc. Social media savvy a plus.· Develop promotional materials as needed.Required Skills: · Enthusiasm and a passion for the wine industry is a priority.· At least 2 years’ experience with relevant marketing / administrative work, preferably in the wine industry.· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks and handle multiple ongoing projects. Attention to detail a must.· Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications, with Excel skills a priority. A strong working knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Photoshop and Microsoft Access experience preferred, but not required.· Strong verbal and written skills essential, as the candidate will be required to interact with both the public and membership.· A positive and professional phone etiquette to communicate with members and consumers alike.· Valid Driver’s License, transportation, and proof of insurance.· Ability to work evening and weekend hours on occasion.· Ability to occasionally lift 40+ lbs.
