FARM MANAGER to manage a farm providing beautiful locally grown flowers to the community of Lake County. This position requires experience and education related to horticulture and botanical farming. Wage $18 + commensurate to experience and education. Many employee perks available.PRODUCTION· Coordinate day-to-day activities and planting schedules. Organize farm projects and perform maintenance chores.· Short and medium planning of the flower production· Preparing land for planting· Maintenance of the crop: crop protection, irrigation and harvest· Establish schedules for planting, propagating, harvesting/trimming and maintenance of plants.· Record and maintain accurate records of plant progress, issues and harvest· Packaging products for distribution of sale· Order supplies, products and tools· Maintain and update inventory list and maintenance of toolsMANAGEMENT· Manage crew through leading by example as a productive and cooperative leader· Solve any problems or disputes what may arise between workers or between workers and staff.TECHNOLOGY· Maintain professional knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops, trainings continually review professional materials and literature to better serve the farm’s needs.· Work closely with Executive Assistant to assist with social media postings and other public communication about the farm.· Outreach and network with related agencies and community groups to develop meaningful partnershipsREQUIREMENTSSuccessful candidate will have education and experience that meets the job duties as described above.Must be well organized and have the ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the farm and team members.We are looking for a proactive and energetic individual who is a knowledgeable and strong advocate of horticulture, locally grown and sold products and Lake County. Must be able to learn quickly and have a strong attention to detail. Some college is preferred.Excellent communication skills and computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $18.00 – $24.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:Follow local mask mandates and cleaning.
