Digital Forensics is a fast-moving and exciting area of business. The Police Service of Scotland Cybercrime Unit has a reputation for innovation and excellence and you will be involved in the most challenging and interesting cases of digital forensic work including the investigation of serious crime, homicide, child sexual exploitation and complex fraud. With digital devices present in almost every investigation Police Scotland undertakes; and ranging from business computer networks with high capacity servers/workstations to domestic usage involving computers, laptops, mobile devices and gaming consoles the role may involve attending scenes and forensically examining digital media to identify evidence. Therefore the successful candidate will be required, through robust digital forensic investigation, to direct technical aspects of computer investigations, by collecting, extracting, interpreting and presenting this evidence in a manner acceptable to the courts.
