Criteria to Apply: 2 years’ experience with vocational training and/or developing community partnerships.Role and Purpose: Nashoba Learning Group (NLG) was founded in 2002 to offer a different life trajectory for those with Autism. In 2006 NLG established the Vocational Training Program, enabling young adults to learn entry level job skills onsite at NLG. In preparation for adulthood we enhanced our programming by offering community integration through the Volunteer and Employment Services program. Our goal is to enable all individuals we serve to gain increased independence through our community programs. NLG has well established community partnerships and has successfully integrated a large portion of our young adults into community placements. The Job Developer will be responsible for establishing new partnerships with potential employers and identifying placement opportunities for those served by Nashoba Learning Group.Duties include: Community OutreachRe-establish contact with previous employers and identify current needs and job opportunities throughout local businesses.Establish partnerships with potential employers and identify placement opportunities for individuals seeking employment.Develop and strengthen community connections through local networking groups.Work with employers to create work plans within their company that match individuals’ interest, skills and experience.Employment Planning· Review individual’s employee satisfaction from previous placements.· Review vocational assessment and work interest inventories to identify new work opportunities as needed.Conduct interest inventories with individuals in order to facilitate career planning.Conduct situational assessments (job tours, skills assessments, work trials, and job tryouts) with individuals in order to facilities career planning and placement decisions.Prepare individual for job search process by providing guidance to write resume, fill out application forms and schedule and attend interview.Monitor employee satisfaction by conducting annual employee reviews.Monitor employer satisfaction by conducting annual employer reviews.Maintain employment records for individuals working in internships or completive employment.Ensure that individuals are making at least state minimum wages.Support worksite startups/job coaching as needed.Development Improve work readiness outcomes by identifying additional skills and training required prior to placements.Explore and create volunteer and employment opportunities.Be a resource to individuals/families to better understand benefits planning.Improve service delivery by providing staff training to job coaches.Support NLG’s fundraising efforts.Additional Responsibilities: · Is available to be first responder as schedule allows· Participates in fund raising efforts for the vocational program· Is available to help support schedule as needed· Complete 24 hours of staff training yearly, including all mandatory trainings· Covers responsibility when absentMaintain online team calendar, adjusting observations, trainings and overlaps to accommodate priorities.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, Business degree preferredExcellent oral and written communication skills.Team player, ability to work flexible hours.Driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle.Strong computer skills.CPR, First Aid certification and CORI will be required.Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 hours daily, with flexibility to work alternate hours depending on events and employers.
