Responsibilities
The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Student Health Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join the UCLA Ship/Managed Care Program. Primary duties include:
Evaluate and provide therapy to UCLA students referred by the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Assess suitability for outpatient therapeutic care and refer to higher-level of care (as necessary)
Formulate treatment plans
Document and enter patient information into medical record
Please note this position is 100% on site.
Qualifications
Appropriate California License and Degree (Master’s of Social Work, LCSW)
Experience and skill interacting with health care providers in multidisciplinary setting
Knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, group psychotherapy, social assessment, and current treatment modalities.
Demonstrated ability to rapidly establish and maintain effective therapeutic rapport with patients and families, as well as collegial relationships, especially across disciplines.
Working knowledge or general theoretical and clinical models
Demonstrated knowledge of laws pertinent to mental health treatment.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced setting requiring frequent adjustment of priorities, rapidly and independently problem-solve most daily problems without supervision.
Demonstrated skill and comfort doing intense interpersonal work with persons with severe mental illness and their families.
Excellent oral and written expression skills, especially in behaviorally specific treatment planning
