The Manager, Digital Commerce Strategy & Marketing is responsible for the planning and execution of short-term and long-term strategic roadmaps for Colgate – Palmolive’s digital commerce ecosystem including Amazon, Pure play, and omni environment. The role will also drive the digital transformation initiatives including owning the retail media strategy across focus categories. The position requires consistent cross-functional collaboration with brand marketing, sales, finance and supply chain among others. Projects managed will have a direct impact on the annual planning process and digital commerce P&L.
Primary Responsibilities
Define and Lead the vision for the eCommerce business strategy and capabilities for North AmericaWork with eComm sales leads, brand teams and finance counterparts to develop annual operating plans including support level recommendations, gross sales targets, and forecasts for eCommerce customers.Work with brand teams to add a complimentary eComm strategy to their key priority initiatives.Manage agency of record on all eComm-related initiatives including media, search, content etc.Monitor emerging trends across the digital ecosystem and identify emerging opportunities.Develop portfolio and channel strategies across all modalities ( ship to home, click & collect, &
delivery)
Establish brand, category and retailer metrics and implement eCommerce guidelinesIdentify short and long term priorities to achieve business objectives and stay competitive with
the evolving consumer landscape
Drive the digital component of the shopper journey (pre store, in store, or offer delivered) to convert shoppers to buyersUse retailer digital platforms to promote and amplify in store experienceOptimize search tactics to better reach the consumer during key decision windowsWork with packaging counterparts to identify latest & greatest technologies impacting SIOC (ships in own container). Integrate options that have a positive effect on consumer experience, customer acceptance and product profitability.
Job Complexity
Manage multi-million-dollar budget. Work with Finance and Procurement counterparts to ensure accuracy of budget and year-end reconciliation.Work with procurement to negotiate best deals on all contract renewals.Solve for new ways to improve consumer conversion online.Manage total eComm portfolio maintenance including annual rationalization, content audits, ratings and review assessments etc.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of experience in CPG with a demonstrated knowledge of the digital/eCommerce space and mediaMBA preferredSuperior project management skillsProven track record of data analytics i.e. ability to quickly digest data from numerous sources and deliver insights-into-action through a thorough, comprehensive storyDetail orientated, reliable, resourceful and driven for results professional
