Paralegal (part-time)

Paralegal works a part-time schedule of up to 32 hours per week in the Mendocino Court Self-Help Center to assist self-represented litigants with completing appropriate forms for filing with the Court. Examines and analyzes legal forms for compliance with requirements. Provides assistance and detailed instructions to customers in the methods of processing and completing various forms. Answer questions from the public regarding procedural requirements in cases pending or set for hearing. Provide customers with referrals to community services, legal resources, attorneys and/or other agencies. Prepare pleadings and various other forms for customers. Review court files to determine the status of cases. Conduct basic legal research including locating statutes and relevant case citations. Perform a variety of assigned duties including office support.
