Position Purpose:
Stericycle’s Woonsocket, RI Transfer Station is hiring for a Local Non CDL Route Truck Driver. You will be responsible for operating a 26′ Box Truck delivering supplies & picking up medical waste at hospitals, urgent cares and other medical facilities throughout RI & MA. Driver will average 15-20 stops a day.
***Mon-Fri; 5:00am Start; 8-12 hour shifts; Hourly Pay; Time & 1/2 after 40hr***
Key Job Activities:
Safely operate Non CDL Box Truck throughout assigned territory.
Pick up medical waste at customer facilities (Hospitals, Urgent Cares, Pharmacies & etc).
Deliver medical supplies to customers when needed.
Driver operates hand trucks/dolly, lift gate and hand held device.
Manages assigned routes ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating any issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day.
Performs other duties and responsibilities, as needed.
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Drivers Lic.
Clean driving record required.
Ability to obtain & maintain a DOT Med Card.
At least 1 year of route driving experience preferred.
Ability to lift 75LB.
Must be able to operate a hand held device.
