Job Title: SAP Functional Team Lead

Job Summary : The SAP Functional Team Lead will utilize a blended mix of business and technical knowledge to improve business process with technology. This position requires a strong working knowledge of multiple lines of Wawa’s business and subject matter expertise in associated technologies, especially SAP. The SAP Functional Lead will collaborate with business partners and IT team members, in coordinating, defining, developing, and implementing new capabilities and process improvements. The Team Lead is responsible for managing day to day operations of team members.
Principal Duties:
Act as primary interface to IT and other business functions in estimating, scheduling, and managing SAP Functional team work.
Analyze business and user needs, and provide expert advice on SAP functionality. Provide business and engagement partners with detailed information about the functionality available in SAP, and best processes to put in place to utilize this functionality.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to configure and understand multiple SAP modules. Utilize analytical and problem solving skills to investigate, document, and define the solution to new requests or problems into the SAP system configuration.
Facilitate functional requirements gathering tasks. Analyze requirements for system enhancements and modifications. Research and analyze options; recommend solutions and provide functional specifications to the technical teams.
Deliver features that support quick implementation cycles by leveraging strong out of the box functionality and are easily specialized and extended.
Create functional test scripts and perform functional testing.
Serve as functional lead for version upgrades, service packs, enhancement packs, and implementation of new functionality. Evaluate new capabilities and incorporate new them into future solution architecture.
Serve as functional lead for escalated operational support issues. Work with IT and outside vendors to resolve technology issues for the business, corporate departments and other IT groups.
Maintain support documentation with up to date processes and procedures.
Lead root cause analysis and lessons learned and incorporate process improvement activities and steps.
Leverage resources throughout IT as appropriate to deliver on business area needs.
Complete project deliverables based on the agreed scope; estimated work effort, duration and requirements; ensure that requirements are being met by the designed solution.
Lead efforts to evaluate other new software in addition to SAP. Lead initial investigation of software; document system requirements; help evaluate technologies and their capabilities; perform gap analysis between business needs and the technology capabilities; design systems architecture; develop and execute test scripts.
Facilitate the creation of Requests for Proposal, and both technical and functional specification documents.
Identify gaps and make recommendations on development process.
Lead and make recommendations in regard to strategy and roadmap planning.
Ensure all processes identified by IT Service Management including but not limited to change management, problem management and incident management are followed.
Grow technical knowledge by researching the latest SAP releases and capabilities, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when necessary, and participate in hiring decisions.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred or a technical discipline (e.g., engineering) preferred
10+ years of SAP related work experience
Proven ability to architect technical solutions to business problems.
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more SAP modules/capabilities:
Finance – FI/CO
Supply Chain – MM, SD, WM, SCM
SAP Retail/IS-Retail
Point of Sale – POSdm
EDI/IDOC
Ability to configure, manage and upgrade other vendor software solutions as necessary
