Service DispatcherJob Summary: Marathon Energy, a leading provider of energy supply, energy efficiency, and preventative, routine and emergency heating service to residential and commercial properties, is seeking a positive, goal-oriented Service Dispatcher for its Woodside, NY office. Our Dispatchers operate in a fast paced 24/7, 365 dispatch office and are an integral part of our organization. Candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication, listening, time-management skills, and be a team player. Additionally, candidate must know how to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Multi-tasking is a must! Company offers a competitive salary based on experience, full benefits, and contribution to 401K plan.Responsibilities and Requirements: Manage day-to-day operations of service department in the NYC Metro areaField incoming calls/customer inquiries from current customers and prospects, while maintaining superior customer serviceDispatch via email and/or phone Service Technicians, as service requests are receivedMaintain the Service Technicians daily schedulesDebrief Customers after completion of each call (if necessary)Schedule and dispatch servicemen to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needsCreate and track purchase ordersCoordinate with mechanics, supervisors, and customers to resolve problems, requests for serviceCoordinate and communicate with parts vendors for pricing and parts needed by technicians, and arrange delivery of parts to the locationMaintain service reports and logsPrepare in advance daily work schedules, such as tune-ups, cleanings, inspections, etc.Prepare and/or receive work orders to and from servicemenKeep and organize work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other informationMaintain customer database with current informationUse telephones, emails, or text messages to contact employees and customersAssist with coordinating vehicle maintenanceManage productivity of Service TechniciansCross-train and help with overload work and responsibilities of Fuel Dispatcher, when necessaryOther duties and responsibilities, as assignedRequired Skills & Personal Attributes: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Two years related experience and/or training in customer service, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experienceComputer skills necessary for working our custom computerized dispatch softwareFlexible work schedule, including 6 or 7 days a week, or extended hours, during the winter seasonMust have minimal knowledge of multi-family heating systems, boilers, heating oil and natural gasGeographical knowledge of NYC service area and map reading skillsStrong math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate, ratio, and percentExcellent, clear and concise customer service skillsSuperior communications skills with department managers, employees and vendorsBe knowledgeable and provide a warm personality that shows over the phoneAble to adapt to frequent changes, delays, demands or unexpected events while yielding an effective outcomeAbility to adapt to changes in the work environment – must be flexible and able to multi-taskMust be detail oriented, self-motivated, and organizedPossess a positive, can-do attitudeMUST be team playerAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondencePrior dispatch experience not required, will train qualified applicantsPrior dispatching and customer service experience a plusFull vaccination for COVID-19, as this job is in-person only** PAID TRAINING **Training will be held 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, for approximately 3 weeksJob Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 – $95,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftHolidaysMonday to FridayOvertimeWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payApplication Question(s):Are you vaccinated for Covid 19?Education:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:Dispatching: 2 years (Required)Energy: 1 year (Preferred)Customer service: 1 year (Required)Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location:One locationWork Remotely:NoWork Location: One locationShow more
