Mighty Oaks Children’s Therapy Center (MOCTC)Clinical Fellow, Speech-Language Pathologist (CF-SLP) Status: Full-TimeDepartment: Speech Therapy Classification: Non-exemptReports to: CF Supervisor, Executive Director Revision Date: 2/2021ENTRY LEVEL EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences/Speech-Language PathologyLICENSURE: Provisional state licensure through the State of Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and AudiologyEXPERIENCE: Past pediatric clinical experience strongly preferredEssential Tasks: Provide professional, positive communication with patients, family members, colleagues and supervisors for quality patient care and a positive work environment.Provide high quality assessment and therapy for children ranging from infancy to 21 years of age across the domains of speech-language pathology.Research and implement evidence-based therapeutic practices.Monitor patient progress and modify plan of care as necessary.Provide high quality clinical documentation across case notes, SOAP notes, progress notes, initial evaluations, reassessments and discharge reports.Collaborate with physicians, case workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and school-based professionals to treat the needs of the whole child.Complete AAC evaluation reports and pursue funding for Speech-Generating Devices (SGDs) as needed.Provide verbal and written communication for public outreach and education.Organize and participate in clinic-based fundraisers and activities.Refer patients to additional medical services as needed.Demonstrate awareness of and appropriately navigate cultural, socioeconomic and individual differences.Provide services to patients and families with limited English proficiency with the support of an interpreter.Implement positive behavior supports, relationship building and other proactive, reactive and crisis strategies to support patient behavior.Educate families regarding patient progress and provide home practice plan.Implement MOCTC attendance policy guidelines and professionally communicate these standards to caregivers.Monitor patient treatment plans and timelines for progress reports and reassessment.Comply with and enforce Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.Follow safety and infection control policies and practices.Educate and collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.Accountability: Frequently, the decisions and actions of the Clinical Fellow (CF) strongly impact the clinic’s revenue, daily operations, reputation, and customer satisfaction. The CF follows routine procedures, established guidelines and treatment standards. Frequently, the CF will need to make independent decisions as to unscheduled time utilization, patient treatment plans, and how treatment should be delivered. The CF peforms work under minimal supervision.
