Job SummaryJOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Staff AccountantAnalyze financial information and prepare financial reports in a multi company environment to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities for each company. Reviews and monitors general ledger accounts and business transactions applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.Coordinate with and support all branches and subsidiaries to achieve accurate and timely financial reporting for both internal and external use on a global platform.The Staff Accountant reports to the Financial Director in the U.S. headquarters of a global enterprise, located in Davison, Michigan.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSParticipate in the development and administration of a synergistic operating structure and financial reporting for business units and companies globally.Ensures that all financial records, statements, and reports are accurate, complete, and are maintained in a manner acceptable to all government regulatory agencies and procedural standards.Assists in the preparation of financial budgets and cash flow forecasts with input from the Division/Department Managers.Monitors all activities to insure proper levels of profit margin, overhead, and direct expenses are maintained.Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports on a monthly basis. Including bank reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, transaction and account analysis, accruals and prepaid expenses, inventory, and budget/forecast to actual variance reports by department and company, and the recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries if necessary.Assist in documentation and monitoring of financial department operating procedures and duties and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.Prepare information for and work with external tax audits/consultants.Work closely with all departments and all related companies.Advises the Director of Finance on the maintenance of the company’s global chart of accounts to properly collect income, cost and expense information for accurate financial reporting.Prepare and process accounts payable invoices, checks, wire transfers, and ACH payments.Manage accounts receivable payment processing and collections.Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.Performs any other duty or assignment that is assigned by the VP of Finance.MINIMUM ELLIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSA degree in accounting or finance.Minimum of five to seven years of increasing accounting responsibilities.Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, reasoning and decision making abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Keeps all privileged company information confidential.Strong analytical and accounting skills, including the ability to compute business math formulas.Experience with Concur Travel and Expense, Intuit Quick Books, Infor XA, Epicor, or Cognos is a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially Excel).SALARY COMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCEJob Type: Full-timePay: From $58,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One locationShow more
