Nature and Scope :
Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Program Development, the VP of Youth Programs will provide leadership and/or support to youth programs including Afterschool, Day Camp, Teens and other youth programs within the Association. The VP will be responsible for implementing and delivering the Y-2025 Strategic Plan for youth programs, organization-wide standards and consistencies throughout all programs. The VP will provide support to the Association’s multiple departments, branch staff teams and leadership to youth program cabinets. This position will also drive superior program quality, ensure all programs enhance membership, increase program enrollments, and enhance the member/participant experience. The VP will also have direct oversight of funding that directly supports Association youth programs. This position will provide a strong vision with innovation and a mindset that views the member experience through programs as the Y’s most important “product”.
Minimum Requirements :
BA/BS in youth related field (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education) or business/ operational management or youth related programs.
Minimum of five years of experience in afterschool, teen, camp or similar youth related programs with program management experience required.
Positive reputation and credibility among peers as a professional expert in association management best practices, strategic thinking and building and maintaining relationships.
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of solving complex problems.
Good conflict resolution, influence, negotiation and coaching skills.
Ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately, exercise discretion as appropriate and remain sensitive to individual situations and needs.
Commitment to excellence, innovation, creativity, teamwork and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking, problem solving, delegation and judgment.
Proven successful experience in managing and developing senior staff and team members.
Strategic leadership experience and strong communication skills as well as a high degree of emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities :
Collaborates with department leads, provides a focus on an integrated, innovated strategy that moves participants through a pipeline of programs for Early Learning, Play Center, Afterschool, Day Camp and Teens that aligns with Y Strategic Plan.
Provide direct leadership of the management, implementation and accountability of Association program grants and funding, specifically Goizueta Foundation, 21st Century, CAPS, DHS, BFTS and foundation grant opportunities.
Ensures quality and accountability of youth programs to meet BFTS/DECAL and YMCA Youth and Safety requirements and trainings.
Co-Leads the Afterschool and Youth Development Cabinet to define the program experience vision, program goals and strategies, and new innovated programming.
Provides leadership and support to improving and enriching program offerings via ongoing quality improvements and innovations for Association.
In partnership with Social Impact team, develop and sustain community partnerships and relationships for youth programs including management of RFP process and selection for partnerships.
Represent and serve on community organization committees such as GSAN, School District Advisory Committees and Y-USA.
Develop, manage and sustain association MOUs for youth programs.
Analyzes program enrollment, and revenue to ensure the success of programs and develop and execute plan if there is a deficit.
Coordinate Association marketing for youth programs with Communications Department. Leads the branch financial development initiatives to include serving as staff liaison with board committees, community groups or other task forces as assigned.
Actively participates in association Financial Development Cabinet and serves as the primary interface with the association Financial Development team.
Creates, initiates and evaluates branch special events tied to the fundraising department.
Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporter and risk management
Demonstrates competencies and willingness to develop in cause driven leadership areas of mission advancement, collaboration, operational effectiveness and personal growth.
Demonstrate the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility in all dealings with members, volunteers and staff
Other duties as assigned.
Effect on End Result :
This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness of the Program Development department and the success of programs and services to the community. The effectiveness of this position is primarily measured by the sound department administration, the stated satisfaction of staff and members and a sound fiscal position of those departments.
Ergonomics :
Sitting, bending, stooping, standing, 15% repetitive keyboard work, seeing, verbal communications, lift up to 25 pounds.
